AI Tool Policy
For Authors
Authors are required to clearly state in the manuscript submission whether any artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used during the writing or preparation of the article.
If no AI tools were used, please include the following statement:
“This article is the original work of the author without using any artificial intelligence (AI) tools for writing sentences or for creating/editing tables and figures in this manuscript submission.”
Notes:
- Walidem Institute and Publishing strictly prohibits the use of generative AI or AI tools to produce, modify, or generate text, images, or figures in any part of the manuscript.
- The use of AI tools for data analysis or drawing insights as part of the research process is permitted, provided that such tools are not used to generate sentences, tables, or figures.
- AI tools must not be listed as authors, co-authors, or cited as authors.
If authors use AI tools, they must specify the purpose and the name of the AI tool(s) used. Acceptable uses may include:
- Grammar checking (e.g., Grammarly, Hemingway App, Linguix, Reverso, etc.);
- Improving coherence and readability (e.g., ChatGPT, Copy.ai, Prosa.ai, Revoicer, QuillBot, etc.).
Authors must declare the tools used and confirm that they have manually verified the accuracy and correctness of any AI-assisted content. They should also state that they have consulted an English language expert or institution for validation and verification. Manual checking is essential, as AI-generated outputs may contain overconfident, inaccurate, incomplete, or biased information. Authors bear full responsibility and accountability for the entire content of their manuscript.
Example of declaration:
“The grammatical structure of this article was improved using ChatGPT. The authors have verified the accuracy and correctness of the generated sentences in relation to the topic and data of this study. The data and language used have been validated by an English language expert, and no AI-generated content is included in this article.”
For Reviewers
- The use of AI tools during the review process is strictly prohibited, as AI-generated information may be inaccurate, incomplete, or biased.
- Reviewers must not upload manuscripts into any AI tools, as submitted documents are confidential and protected under the authors’ intellectual property and data privacy rights.
For Editors
- Manuscripts submitted by authors are strictly confidential and must not be uploaded into any AI tools, including for translation or language assistance purposes.
- Editors must not use AI tools in article evaluation or decision-making, as this may lead to incorrect or biased conclusions.
- All communications and editorial decisions must be conducted directly, ethically, and responsibly by the editor. The editor is fully responsible for the integrity of the editorial process and the confidentiality of submitted materials.
