The Solo Universal Journal of Islamic Education and Multiculturalism (SUJIEM) is an open-access and peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in the fields of Islamic education, multiculturalism, and democratic education. It is published by Walidem Institute and Publishing (WIP), officially registered under NIB-1403230000838 and AHU-045053.AH.01.30.2023, and legally recognized by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia.

SUJIEM publishes a wide range of scholarly works that contribute to the development of theoretical and practical insights in Islamic education, multicultural understanding, and democratic values in education.

The name SUJIEM originates from the rich historical and cultural heritage of Solo, Indonesia—a region known for its multicultural character, democratic spirit, progressive educational tradition, and strong religious values, particularly in advancing inclusive and modern education. This heritage underpins the journal’s vision to integrate Islamic values, multiculturalism, democracy, human dignity, and holistic education in addressing contemporary global challenges.

Since its establishment, SUJIEM has achieved several key milestones, including:

  • 2023: Official launch as a scholarly platform in the field of Islamic education and multiculturalism.
  • 2023: Obtained legal recognition with E-ISSN 2988-3520.
  • 2023: Successfully indexed in various academic databases such as Google Scholar, Crossref, Dimensions, Garuda, Moraref, ResearchGate, DOI, and others.
  • 2024: Submitted an application for indexing in SINTA (Science and Technology Index), managed by the Ministry of Research and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia.
  • 2025: Submitted for indexing in Scopus, one of the world’s most prestigious and reputable academic databases (currently under evaluation).

With these accomplishments, SUJIEM remains committed to becoming a high-quality academic platform in the fields of Islamic and multicultural education, and to contributing significantly to the advancement of scientific knowledge and global scholarship.
