Peer Review Process

The Journal of Econ-Islamic Law and Society Research (JEISR) maintains a rigorous and transparent peer-review mechanism to uphold the highest standards of scientific integrity, originality, and academic quality. All submitted manuscripts undergo a thorough evaluation process structured as follows:

Upon submission, every manuscript is subjected to a preliminary evaluation by the Managing Editor to ensure:

a. Alignment with the journal's Focus and Scope.

b. Strict adherence to the Author Guidelines and manuscript template.

c. Originality via similarity checking software (e.g., Turnitin), where an overall similarity index of less than 20% is strictly required.

Manuscripts that fail to meet these basic criteria, demonstrate insufficient scholarly rigor, or fall outside the journal's scope may be rejected immediately (Desk Rejection) without external review.

2. Peer Review Policy (Double-Blind Peer Review)

Manuscripts passing initial screening are assigned to an Editor and forwarded to at least two (2) independent expert reviewers specializing in the relevant subject area.

a. JEISR operates a Double-Blind Peer Review process: the identities of both the authors and the reviewers remain strictly anonymous throughout the review lifecycle.

b. Reviewers assess the manuscript based on original contribution, methodological soundness, depth of theoretical framework, ethical compliance, and clarity of presentation.

3. Review Outcomes & Decision Making

The review period typically takes 5 to 9 weeks. Based on the reviewers' evaluations and recommendations, the Section Editor/Editor-in-Chief makes one of the following final editorial decisions:

a. Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted in its current form for publication.

b. Revisions Required (Minor Revisions): The manuscript is accepted pending minor textual, formatting, or technical corrections as requested by the reviewers.

c. Resubmit for Review (Major Revisions): The manuscript requires substantial structural, methodological, or theoretical revisions and must undergo a second round of peer review.

d. Decline Submission: The manuscript is rejected due to significant methodological flaws, lack of originality, or fundamental theoretical gaps.

4. Revision and Final Approval

If revisions are requested, authors are given a designated timeframe to submit a revised draft along with a detailed Point-by-Point Response to Reviewer Comments. The Editor-in-Chief retains final authority over the acceptance or rejection of all submitted manuscripts.
