Objective: This research explores the significance of Islamic family ethics as a foundational element in promoting social harmony in the modern era. The primary objective is to analyze how Islamic teachings address family-related challenges and foster moral values that strengthen societal cohesion. Theoretical framework: The theoretical framework combines Islamic ethical teachings with sociological theories concerning family systems and social stability. Literature review: The literature review encompasses scholarly works in Islamic studies, sociology, and contemporary research on family dynamics, highlighting the relevance and timelessness of Islamic values in addressing emerging social issues. Methods: Utilizing a descriptive-analytical methodology, the study analyzes primary Islamic texts, academic research, institutional reports, and credible digital sources. Through thematic text analysis, the research identifies patterns and principles that illustrate how Islamic ethics provide practical solutions to modern familial challenges, such as individualism, generational disconnection, and moral decline. Results: The findings reveal that Islamic family ethics significantly contribute to social harmony by encouraging respect, mutual support, responsible parenting, and community awareness. These values create a stable family environment, which serves as the bedrock for a cohesive society. The research further demonstrates that integrating Islamic ethical teachings into family and community programs can help counteract the erosion of social bonds in an increasingly fragmented world. Implications: The study’s implications extend to policymakers, educators, and religious leaders who seek to reinforce ethical and familial foundations in society. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in its contextual linkage of traditional Islamic values with contemporary societal issues, offering a faith-based, yet universally applicable, framework for strengthening family structures and enhancing social harmony in a globalized era.
