Journal History

DEUJIS is an open-access and peer-reviewed journal focused on Islamic and Sharia studies. It is published by Walidem Institute and Publishing (WIP) under NIB-1403230000838 and AHU-045053.AH.01.30.2023, registered with the Government of the Republic of Indonesia. DEUJIS publishes various types of scholarly works, including research articles, conceptual articles, field study reports, and book reviews that contribute to the advancement of Islamic and Sharia studies.

As a journal with a unique identity, DEUJIS derives its name from one of Indonesia’s historic Islamic sultanates, the Sultanate of Demak. This sultanate was a significant center for the spread of Islam in the Nusantara region, known for its people who uphold human values, Islamic principles, and the integration of religious teachings with worldly affairs.

Since its inception, DEUJIS has achieved several key milestones, including:

  • 2023: Official launch of DEUJIS.
  • 2023: Obtained legal recognition with E-ISSN serial number 2988-3539.
  • 2023: Successfully indexed in several academic databases, including Google Scholar, Crossref, Dimensions, Garuda, Moraref, ResearchGate, DOI, and other indexes.
  • 2024: Submitted an application for indexing in SINTA (Science and Technology Index), managed by the Government of Indonesia.
  • 2025: Applied for indexing in Scopus, one of the world's most prestigious and reputable academic databases (hopefully, it will be accepted).

With these achievements, DEUJIS remains committed to being a high-quality platform for scholarly publications in Islamic and Sharia studies, contributing to the development of Islamic scholarship and civilization on a global scale.
