Abstract

Universal Leadership: Insights into Political Ethics in Imam Ghazali's Thought is a topic that explores the great contributions of Imam Ghazali, a prominent scholar in Islamic intellectual history, to the understanding of leadership and political ethics. This article aims to explore Imam Ghazali's views on moral and ethical principles that must be applied in political leadership. Through his monumental works, such as "Ihya Ulumuddin" and "Advice al-Muluk", Imam Ghazali highlights the importance of justice, wisdom, and a sense of responsibility in governance. This research method analyzes the thinking of Imam Ghazali revealing that effective leadership is based on Islamic principles that prioritize the welfare of the ummah and minimize social disparities. Compare Imam Ghazali's thoughts on leadership and political ethics with the works of other Islamic scholars of the time to find similarities and differences. Compare Imam Ghazali's thought with philosophical and political views from the same or present period, to evaluate the similarities, differences, and relevance of these concepts in the context of modern times. Thus, this article considers the relevance of Imam Ghazali's thought in the modern context, where political ethics and moral leadership are becoming increasingly important in building a just and just society.
